Childhood Dreams

I have dreamt of watching the Cubs play at Wrigley since I was a little boy. I fell in love with the Cubs watching them on WGN as a young boy that immigrated to the U.S. from South Korea.

Growing up in Western NC was not easy if you weren’t white or black, so I fell in love with everything American. There is nothing more American than baseball.

I saw the Cubs play in Detroit in the summer of 2009, while interning at a church in Birmingham, MI. Almost a decade later I still love baseball, and I love the Cubs with a fierce loyalty.

I loved the Cubs even when they kept disappointing me during the years of “the Curse,” and I love them post World Series win.

I am at Wrigley on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Chicago. The Cubs are on the verge of sweeping the Pirates. It’s the bottom of the 6th inning, so anything could still happen.
