I sat at a Quaker Meeting. I was really tired, but got to be still and silent for a little bit.
Meditation Poem #83
true silence is an oasis
in this crazy loud world

Meditation Poem #83
true silence is an oasis
in this crazy loud world
I sat this evening with my weekly meditation group. We did 20 minutes of guided meditation lead by one of the members. I sat on the floor using my jacket as a cushion to elevate my hips off the floor. I noticed how tired and lethargic I felt. After meditation was over, I went to the gym and worked out for an hour or so. I feel less lethargic, and nice treating myself to Ramen with veggies and hard boiled egg added by your truly.
Meditation Poem #81
each moment a blessing
when received with gratitude
no expectations
It’s a snow day where I live. I was able to sit quietly and practice some breath meditation to start my day.
Meditation Poem #80
every breath
every moment
every beat
my heart
opens up
I meditated this morning. I’ve feeling really emotionally and physically exhausted.
Meditation Poem: #79
bones break
muscles ache
mind breaks
thoughts fade
heart opens
I am still meditating, but I just haven’t been very disciplined about updating my blog. I apologize to the readers. I commit to writing every day for the next 12 days, so I can fulfill my commitment of 90 poems based on 90 days of meditation.
Meditation Poem #78
change is inevitable
breathe through it
the only solid ground
I am definitely running out of steam, but grateful for the practice of sitting. I sat today in the morning. I feel like I am coming out of a minor depressive period. Grateful I am more aware than I used to be, and caring for myself with more patience and love. I’ve also been practicing metta when I drive, starting with loving-kindess for myself and the other drivers around me. 🙂
Meditation Poem #77
deep compassions rises
out of my heart
love for all beings
I didn’t get to write this yesterday, but I did 20 minutes of guided meditation in a group setting. I appreciate guided meditation, but I find that it’s less distracting for me to have complete silence. But as anyone whose ever tried to sit, it’s never totally silent. Even the quietest places have some form of sound…not even mentioning the metaphorical noise of one’s mind.
Meditation Poem #76
silence is golden
inner silence
comes for those that wait
It’s been difficult to get out of bed in the mornings, I think I am going through some low depressive periods. I am grateful I can be aware, and choose self care when my brain tells me the opposite.
Meditation Poem #75
the greatest gift
is being open
to the present
I was sick yesterday, but tried to meditate in bed. I meditated on my cushion today.
Meditation Poem #74
all is nothing
but everything is everything
the great reality
